The FOIA Analyst will support the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM); Special Operations Command Staff (SOCS), Freedom of Information Act/Privacy Act/Civil Liberties Branch (FOIA/PA/CL). The candidate will follow the guidelines of the Records Management Policy, DoD Freedom of Information Act Program, Security Classification Guides, E.O. 13526, Information Security Program, DoD Privacy Program, Department of Justice Freedom of Information Guide. The work shall include maintaining case files as required for FOIA, Privacy Act, and MDR using standard electronic filing procedures that have been established within the FOIA/PA Office. They shall use Appligent Redax software and Adobe Acrobat Professional to properly bracket information. They shall coordinate with the Command Operation Security Office, the Security Management Office, and the Legal Office to ensure records are properly classified and marked accordingly. Additionally, candidates shall serve as subject matter experts and advise them as appropriate regarding the regulations and the law for protecting and/or releasing official government records.
Location: United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) Headquarters located on MacDill Air Force Base, Florida.
5 years in FOIA/PA request processing (analyzing, tasking, applying exemptions).
4 years combined working with DoD Regulation 5400.7-R, the DOD FOIA Program, DoD 5400.11-R the DoD Privacy Program, E.O 13526 and other related FOIA regulations such as privacy act and classified national security regulations.
Preferred Experience (Candidate does not need experience in all listed areas)
Experience in maintaining FOIA NIPR Public page and NIPR/SIPR portal pages.
Experience in DOD Privacy program
Experience in Mandatory Declassification Review Process
Candidate must be TS/SCI eligible. Employment is contingent upon contract award.
