Q&A

To get a better feel for how and why we do what we do, check out the following brief Q&A with our Organizational Excellence practice director, Kevin Cheezum.

Q: What is Organizational Excellence?

A: Organizational excellence is improving organizational performance in an ever-changing business climate by recognizing and managing risks using proven problem-solving techniques and methodologies. This includes incorporating the active participation of clients in developing effective solutions. Recognizing business process management as a management approach allows for effective and successful gains for the workforce, the workplace culture and, ultimately, organizational productivity.

Q: Why is Organizational Excellence important/relevant?

A: Organizations are constantly challenged to perform in a consistent and reliable manner. Breakdowns occur for a number of reasons, but typically stem from some type of change, miscommunication, and/or lack of properly established processes and procedures. We help our clients to develop a consistent and effective approach by first working with them to identify the root cause of what the issue involves, and then to identify what they need and how to get there with the resources at hand. There is no magic pill – it takes a serious commitment by the client to initiate and follow through to achieve the desired outcome.

Q: What do you find most interesting about Organizational Excellence?

A: Working with clients that genuinely care about their organizations and their people. The day-to-day challenges that affect managers also affect their people and the way they do business. Working with clients who take the time to recognize change and involve their people in meeting challenges is exciting and rewarding.
