Client Problem: A client experiencing rapid growth was encountering an increasing number of system issues and failures that appeared to be unrelated and random in nature. The client was considering a full system replacement which would have required a significant investment.
McManis & Monsalve Solution and Result: Our IT specialists were approached to analyze the reason for the systems instability and assist with the planning and design of the new system. We performed a thorough system security audit, including network perimeter and system penetration testing, as well as internal systems configuration review. The team identified multiple vulnerabilities and core security system architecture flaws. By strengthening the security of the core servers and the network perimeter, and with a minimal investment in new equipment, the “random” system wide failures ended and the overall reliability of the IT operation was dramatically increased. As a proactive measure, continuous monitoring system is in place.

Client Problem 1: Based on years of experience and analytical work, the client developed a proprietary mathematical algorithm for analyzing grain markets and grain pricing trends based on a number of factors and variables. The client created a set of spreadsheets and applied Microsoft Access based applications to record the analytical data. However, the collection of source data, its processing, and the interaction of different components were not streamlined and included a large amount of manual work that was prone to error.
McManis & Monsalve Solution and Result: After a thorough analysis of the client’s needs, an integrated system was developed that automatically computed the source data and calculated grain product prices relative to the market trend, allowing for optimal trading transactions. The integrated system included special scripting language to allow the key components, formulas and actions to be replaced by "words" which enabled non technical personnel to construct or modify the client’s business process.
Client Problem 2: A Fortune 500 manufacturing and engineering company wanted to have a web application with external data processing and visualization capabilities for testing software.
McManis & Monsalve Solution and Result: The project began with a series of interviews and meetings with the client’s software testing group, which presented the internally-produced prototype for the application that was already approved by prospective users. McManis & Monsalve IT specialists utilized the interviews and reverse engineering of the prototype to develop and test a web application suitable to the client’s needs.
The resulting application was a highly specific analytical tool with external data processing and visualization capabilities. A follow-up interview with the client revealed that the client was pleased with the quality of the software’s features while adhering to good software engineering practices.

Client Problem 1: A group of independent NGO’s formed a consortium in an effort to bid on larger projects and realize economies of scale during implementation. The variety of information systems that each member organization was using presented compatibility, performance, productivity and maintenance complications in addition to being financially inefficient.
McManis & Monsalve Solution and Result: A complex multiprotocol network was designed and implemented to allow for transparent collaboration among the members and their branch offices. The organizations gradually phased out their legacy systems and transitioned to a centrally maintained network and communications infrastructure.
Client Problem 2: A multinational forwarding company was interested in establishing an overseas data center to support its international expansion. A set of ERP and support applications specific to the operation were being considered.
McManis & Monsalve Solution and Result: The project began with a thorough analysis of the client’s needs and objectives. A study of the client’s IT infrastructure and Information System followed covering the client’s current status, capacity and performance, development plans, and the planned new data center. Effectiveness and trade off analysis were performed and an alternative data center concept was developed and presented to management. The client decided to implement McManis & Monsalve’s recommendations based on the data presented.

Client Problem: The client’s existing website did not reflect the manufacturer’s professional image, excellent client reputation, and professionally-designed collateral materials.
McManis & Monsalve Solution and Results: Newline Creations first performed competitor research. The results of this research were discussed during an in-depth brainstorming session with the client. From the brainstorming session, a new marketing message and a website delivery strategy were developed allowing the client to differentiate the company and better position it in the market. These concepts were refined to construct a website that fortified the company’s new image and marketing message. The project was so successful that two additional projects were generated directly from this satisfied client’s referrals.
