Q&A

To get a better feel for how and why we do what we do, check out the following brief Q&A with our Intelligence Analysis practice director, Todd DeBruin.

Q: What is Intelligence Analysis?

A: Intelligence Analysis is the use of information to reduce uncertainty in decision making.

Q: Why is Intelligence Analysis important/relevant?

A: With the pace of operations quickening and the flow of data growing exponentially both internally and externally, executives and managers are increasingly called on to make better decisions more quickly and with less information. Organizations that can gather and analyze large amounts of information quickly and apply it in a practical way that enhances operations at all levels of their business have a very real opportunity to develop significant competitive advantage. They can achieve this by incorporating intelligence analysis processes and techniques into their decision-making and operations.

Q: What do you find most interesting about Intelligence Analysis?

A: It is a fascinating time to be an analytical professional. With information technology – particularly Web 2.0 – increasing the volume of information flow, it is an ever changing challenge to develop new ways to harness the potential that this information creates and apply it in a practical way to real-world situations. The pace of change provides endless opportunities for creativity in finding new ways to integrate analysis and technology to solve problems and create value.
